Have you ever seen something in a magazine and thought “Oh, I’d love that,” and then while driving to the store to check it out secretly wished you would hate it? Well, that happened to me recently as I saw an ad for the new Tom Ford Lavender Extreme perfume in a magazine.
You know my love perfume dates back to my early years when my signature fragrance was Love’s Baby Soft and continued until 7th grade when I received my first bottle of “real” perfume Anis Anais and continued on to high school and college when my Grandpa Bill send my sister, Meri, and me a bottle of Chanel Number 5 for Christmas every year. ( I thought this was so sophisticated and I loved the crispness of the packaging as much as the perfume!) My dream job growing up was to work at Bloomingdale’s in NYC on “B-Way” squirting perfume on people as they walked by. Sigh…
Anyway, I digress. Back to my Tom Ford story. Retailing at $335 my mind is racing to the fact that I don’t really need this perfume. So, I am praying as I squirt it on my wrist for it to be lovely, just not lovely on me saving me $335.
Well, no such luck, sister. I LOVED this new perfume and without any remorse, walked out of Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC with a bottle of it. I am obsessed with this light lavender scent that is perfect for summer.
Here are a few other things that somehow made it home with me in recent weeks plus a few things that are on my wishlist Enjoy!
Beauty Counter Overnight Resurfacing Peel
This is m new number one secret for glowing skin! I noticed a difference after one use. I loved everything I purchased from Beauty Counter and, who doesn’t love to support another woman in business? Here are my favs…
Hydrating Body Lotion in Citrus Mimosa
Two of my good friends sell this product, meet Melanie and Deb.
Many items are on sale, 15% off.
Another secret for glowing skin is cream blush (doubles as a lipstick too!). It gives you such a nice youthful look. My fav classic is Powder Pink but also love Blush Rose. Both by Bobbi Brown.
And, my last secret for glowing skin, Crema Nera Extrema. You won’t be sorry you spent the money on this face cream. Seriously it is that good!
Moving right along…
For a girl who spends a lot of time by the pool, the “right” towel is essential. This one by Vineyard Vines makes me happy. I love the color combo.
I am forever in search of the perfect pair of jean shorts. Here is a good option if you like AG as much as I do! (Fashion note here, they look better rolled up a bit and those shoes in the photo are a big “no” IMHO.
For a girl who spends her weekends reading books by the pool, polarized sunglasses are an absolute must. But here is what I can’t quite figure out and please tell me I am not the only one. Designer sunglasses, Gucci, Tom Ford, Tiffany, etc are priced around $300-$450.00 but they don’t have polarized lenses, which means I am paying for style only. Sigh..
Everyone in my neighborhood has been talking about this book!
I think this is so simple and charming. As is this White belt. Trust me when I tell you it looks great with White Jeans and light denim blue too.
I broke down after a recent boating trip and got a pair of sensible shoes. I must admit, with the right accessories they can look cute.
J.Crew Puff White Sleeve TopYou can never have too many white tops. (said probably only me but whatever!)
Best Beach Reads will leave you saying, “I could not put this book down!” avail on Amazon.
I am crushing on these YSL bags lately and you know I “need” a new bag for fall. I love this leather style. It looks young and edgy and fun. I like that this bag has a few color options. You can never go wrong with black but the gray and tan are amazing too! I can picture everything looking amazing with this bag.
J.Crew Cashmere. For the price, a good deal. I know it is shocking I purchased a color, Pink, but I think this looks great with White Jeans as fall approaches. (pair with the White belt above!)
I hope you are enjoying your summer!
