The first day of spring makes me excited to share my spring fashion finds but you might notice there are only a few items this year.
Ever since I read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, I no longer seem to be drawn to fashion with “I must have that” mindset. I do admit, I love having fewer things in my closet. (blog post here) Now, I realize that I purchased things not just because I wanted them, and maybe on a very rare occasion needed them, but mostly so I didn’t have to make a decision on what to wear from my closet. I also realize owning more is so stressful. Crazy insight, right?
With that said, I am not a minimalist quite yet and haven’t taken the plunge to a capsule wardrobe but I have found when browsing things in the store, and I have something like it already, I think twice.
Here are a few things that caught my eye this spring.
I purchased a few pairs of wedge sandals from Michael Kors a few years ago and have loved them. A wedge is always a good idea for this vertically challenged girl and these are as comfortable as flats. Stylish and practical.
I went to lunch with my friend Kelly a month or so ago and, finally, after about 20 min said, “Your skin glows, what are you using?” Kelly replied with her new love of Kate Somerville. You know I drove straight to Sephora to pick up this product which instantaneously removed my dull winter skin and replaced it with a dewey moisturized glow.
I think this coat looks darling. I need to make a trip to the store and check it out.
I am always on the lookout for the best brown /pink lipstick on the market. Meet my new BFF, Bahama Brown.
I shy away from color, but loved this fun pink garment dyed sweatshirt. I can tell it is going to get better and better with every wash. It is perfect to wear to yoga.
I discovered this brand in Southampton last year. The prints are fun and each piece makes a statement. This black shirt looks simple and elegant, perfect for a night out.
I still haven’t met a white shirt I didn’t like.
